8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
How can one have pure heart and soul? What makes a heart beautiful in the eyes of God? Is it appearance alone or they way one dresses? Is it the way one speaks? How do we treat others? Can a pure heart be seen or is it in the shadows? Water can be pure. A filter helps water be good to drink. What does pure mean? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary (1)unmixed with any other matter -pure gold- 2. free from dust, dirt, or taint -pure spring water-
(3) : SPOTLESS, STAINLESS. We live in a fallen nature which is the state of original sin. Adam and Eve’s disobedience caused sin and death to enter the world. What used to be paradise became a upheaval reality. How did we gain goodness after the fall? How can we drink the fresh water that has become poisonous? Somebody had to come and rescue us from peril. Someone had to clean up the mess that we made. Someone had to show us the way to beauty. Sin made us ugly. How can we be beautiful again? If only I recognized beauty in its essence. Innocence is not hard to find. Purity is not lost forever. We don’t have to look very hard to find Goodness, Beauty and Truth. We were not left in darkness. What do you think of when you think of purity of heart? God is that someone who restored us. He sent His Only-Begotten Son to save us from our wretched state of sin. He had to suffer and go through a passion enough to be driven to the cross and die. He had to endure much agonizing pain to show His love. In order to show love for the one you love you have to be lovable. St. John Vianney says WHEN the heart is pure, it cannot help loving, because it has found the source of love, which is God Himself.
—Catechism on Purity (M.). God is beautiful. God is love. God is Goodness. God is Holy. His Heart is full with Love and Compassion. His love endures forever. He taught us love first before we can show it. Before I formed you in the womb I knew You. He loved us. We are sometimes unlovable and yet He still shows us love. His love came with scars. His love wore thorns, His heart was pierced. Nails tore his flesh limb from limb. How can pure love show defeat? Who did He say we should be like in order to be worthy of the Kingdom? Who is the greatest in the Kingdom? Matthew 18:2-4
2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them,
3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Children have purity of heart. If we keep love to ourselves we spoil life. To be rich in love is to be fully consumed into God’s Divine life. If we want to have a lovable relationship with our neighbors we have to have a loving relationship with the God of love. Lust is not love. You start to see your neighbors as little Christs. Here’s tangible advice how to be good. Philippians 4:8-9
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you. We also have a Mother who is sinless and spotless to imitate in Mary Virgin Most Powerful and a Chaste Man of God in Joseph Mary’s Most Chaste Spouse. Chastity becomes real when Christ lives in our body and soul. Holy is He and holy is what we strive to be. Thirst for Holiness and we’ll receive Eternal love. Love is eternal. Love has no expiration date. Read 1 Cor 13:1-13 on how to be more lovable. God love you.
